When I was in high school, like most of my friends at the time, I created a MySpace profile and a LiveJournal account. What was very cool about these early social media platforms was their abiity to customize the CSS and HTML on your own accounts. You really don't see that today on more modern social media platforms - users don't have the same creative free-reign over their profile designs. I would invest hours after-school customizing my friend's MySpace and LiveJournal accounts, as I genuinely enjoyed the design freedom. My friends would give me a colour-scheme idea and I'd run with it and present them with different custom designs. Fast-forward fifteen years later, I was working at a Canadian medical software company, regularly working alongside Developers. I was working in a call-centre sector of the company providing tech-support to medical professionals. I found that I really enjoyed building research cases for the Developers so they could investigate bugs developing in the software. I started to think, maybe working as a Developer would be an avenue I would like to explore in my future. In May 2021, I registered for my first She-Codes course, She-Codes Basic, where I learned the early fundamentals of using HTML, CSS & JavaScriptl. I am currently working on the last portion of the SheCodes bootcamp called SheCodes- React. I will be learning about React and how to make responsive websites using API's and Bootstrap. Once I complete the final bootcamp, I hope to start working in this field as well as complete a travel-blog website with my partner, as we have travelled together to over 30 countries in the past 5 years. Below are the two projects I created while doing SheCodes-Basics and SheCodes-Plus.
